Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says a woman was arrested after allegedly hitting her husband with a hammer.

"Ironically they had an argument about their relationship. As part of this argument, she grabbed a hammer and hit him several times in the leg and back. The woman used the claw part of the hammer causing several scratches. He initially thought about getting away from her. About the only way to get out was jumping out the window on the second story. He jumped out the window and went to a friend's house where he called police."

Clemens says 33-year-old Sonni Dawn Ross was charged with one count of aggravated assault domestic.

Clemens says both individuals had been drinking.
