Sioux Falls Police report that one of the vehicles that was stolen this week was involved in an accident when the suspect drove the truck over a fire hydrant.

"It was a large vehicle, a panel type moving truck," Police Lt. John Duprey explained. "Keys were left in the center's cup console holder. The owner of the vehicle had a pretty good idea who it was because of a prior incident. He relayed that information to an officer. An officer did locate the vehicle in the 600 Block of North Cliff Avenue based on information that the owner had provided. After she did a little investigation we were able to locate an individual in the area. That person was arrested."

Duprey identified the suspect as 58-year-old David Bordeaux, a Sioux Falls transient.

Another two vehicles were ripped off on Wednesday. The doors were unlocked in both incidents.
