The Sioux Falls Police Department's Animal Control Division would like the public's help in locating a dog because of a dog bite.

The bite occurred at 5:45pm Thursday near the intersection of West 24th Street and South Dakota Avenue.

A juvenile male was riding his scooter on the sidewalk and was trying to ride past an adult male walking his dog on a leash.

As he rode past the dog, the juvenile was bitten in the upper right thigh.

The adult was described as a white male wearing a blue coat and black pants, while the dog was a white dog with large black spots and pointed ears.

The man and his dog left in an unknown direction of travel after the bite.

Animal Control needs to identify the dog in this incident to verify its vaccinations.
