Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says a burglar was caught while trying to rip off items from a garage and pickup truck early Thursday morning.

"The homeowner and his wife were in their house when a burglar alarm went off. There was a side door activation from the garage. The husband went out to the garage and found a suspect inside his pickup truck. The guy tried to run out of the garage, but the home owner was able to tackle him and held his down while his wife called police. The suspect was arrested once officers arrived at the residence. He scuffled with the officers as well. We know he broke into that garage. We believe there may be other burglaries in that area that he may be responsible for.

Clemens says 53-year-old Perry Stark, a Sioux Falls transient, was charged with first degree burglary, possession of burglary tools and resisting arrest.
