Sioux Falls Police Lt. Loren McManus says the weekend saturation patrol produced results.

"Sgt. Brink from our traffic services section was pleased with the response. 238 citations were issued in total. 58 of those were speeders. We had 23 seat belt violations. 36 warning tickets were given and 52 verbal warning were given. I think all in all it was a good compliance weekend and a good saturation."

McManus says drivers can expect additional saturation patrols this summer.

"We try to do saturation patrols throughout the summer when there's more activity going on. I don't know the exact plan. But, I imagine once a month would be a pretty safe guess."

Twelve Sioux Falls police officers participated in the saturation patrol that was held from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday.
