Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says an argument became physical between two half-sisters.

"The two started arguing. At one point, the suspect grabbed the victim by the neck and started to strangle her at the point of finding it difficult to breathe. She was able to fight off of that. The suspect then grabbed a butcher knife, threatened the victim and held it to her throat. Eventually, the victim was able to get away and call police."

19-year-old Spring Greger of Sioux Falls was arrested and charged with aggravated assault domestic.

In another incident, Clemens says a domestic situation turned ugly.

"The boyfriend had called the girlfriend and asked her to stop over. She came over with a friend. He was outside in a car and then went in the house. He came out with a shotgun. He pointed the shotgun at her before going back inside. She left and called police."

21-year-old Joshua Powell of Sioux Falls is charged with aggravated assault domestic.
