Authorities are making progress in the video lottery forgeries case in Sioux Falls.

Two arrests were made on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 in connection to 9 different counterfeit video lottery tickets passed in Sioux Falls.

Sioux Falls Police together with Secret Service searched a house on the 3500 block of East 60th Street North Wednesday afternoon and found 4 forged video lottery tickets, as well as a small amount of methamphetamine and marijuana.

Jamie Sue VanRegenmorter, 27 and Lizzie Ann Richert, 60, both of Sioux Falls were arrested. VanRegenmorter was charged with 4 counts of possession of a forged instrument, in addition to multiple drug offenses. While Richert faces similar drug charges including possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute.

Police have concluded that authentic lottery tickets were being scanned into the computer, being altered for reward amount and date, and printed.

Surveillance video at area establishments aided investigators in identifying the suspects, according to Sioux Falls Police Officer Sam Clemens.

The Secret Service joined the investigation into the forged tickets, as well as the counterfeit bills being passed throughout Sioux Falls. At this time investigators are unsure if the counterfeit bills and the forged video lottery tickets are related.

Authorities are still searching for one other person involved in the case. Police say more arrests are expected soon.
