Two men were going door-to-door selling cleaning products in South West Sioux Falls.

Police Spokesman Sam Clemens says they didn't have required licenses.

"A homeowner asked to see their peddler's license and state sales tax permit. Both of these guys refused to show it. The homeowner didn't buy anything from them. He called police. Officers were able to find both of these guys and found that neither had a peddlers permit or the state sales tax permit. Both were arrested on those charges."

In the days to come, Clemens says more peddlers will be knocking on doors in Sioux Falls.

"There is nothing wrong with that. But, if people are selling products door-to-door tbey need to have those permits. Those are something the people must carry with them. If somebody asks, they are required to show the permits."

Clemens identifies the men as 25-year-old Sidney Jackson of Sioux Falls and 24-year-old Ricky Woodall of St. Louis.

The two men were working with a Georgia company.
