Sioux Falls Police Arrest Man on Marijuana Possession Charges

Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says a traffic stop on Tuesday resulted in an arrest and the discovery of 164 grams of marijuana.

"We had an officer that was near Cliff Avenue and Benson Road. He saw a car that was speeding. The car turned onto North Seventh Avenue and stopped. The driver got out and took off running. The passenger stayed behind. The officers ended up finding quite a bit of marijuana. There was a felony amount that was inside the car along with a handgun that was stuffed beside the driver's seat and the center console."

Clemens says the passenger is identified as 31 year-old John Bonrud of Sioux Falls. Bonrud was arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana.
