As if you didn't have enough reasons to brag about Sioux Falls, here is yet another justification for you to make fun of where your relatives and friends live. WalletHub's new report indicates that out of 150 of the largest cities in the United States, Sioux Falls is one of the top ten best run cities!

How did they come to this conclusion and why did they bother? We are deep into the moving season and as a service to people relocating all over the country WalletHub mashed the numbers to let people know if where they are moving is a good choice. The numbers they crunched spanned a wide number of categories.

They analyzed a city's achievements by examining 6 major categories including:

financial stability, education, health, safety, economy as well as infrastructure and pollution. We then combined these categories to construct an “Overall City Services” ranking against which we measured the cities’ total per-capita budgets in order to reveal their budgeting efficiency."

Sioux Falls garnered particularly high marks for the state of our economy and health (5th out of 150 cities) and didn't score too badly for infrastructure and pollution, (8th place) either.

After examining all the statistics, the WalletHub gurus determined how well city government officials balance their responsibilities and resources with the public's needs and wants. The decisions city leaders make regarding essential services, taxes, cutting budgets and more all effect citizens' quality of life and the efficiency with which the city is run.

Here are the top 10 best run cities (out of the 150 most populated) in the U.S.:

  1. Boise, Idaho (Capital city of ID)
  2. Nampa, Idaho (2nd largest city in ID)
  3. Provo, Utah (3rd largest city in Utah, home of Brigham Young University)
  4. Missoula, Montana (My birthplace, gateway to Glacier National Park)
  5. Ft. Wayne, Indiana (2nd largest city in Indiana)
