SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says a Sioux Falls man with several aliases has pleaded guilty to federal charges of passport fraud and misuse of a Social Security number.

Johnson says 56-year-old Mark Steven Shepard faces up to 10 years in prison on the fraud conviction and up to five years in prison on the Social Security card offense.

Authorities alleged that Shepard last year applied for and received a South Dakota driver's license in the name of Kelllyn Daleigh Kennedy, using a U.S. Passport in that name as proof of his identity. He had obtained that passport by fraudulently claiming the Social Security number of another person as his own.

A sentencing hearing has been set for Jan. 4.
