Police have made an arrest in the attempted robbery of a gas station and convenience store in late July.

On Sunday, July 27th at 4:18am, a man tried to rob the Freedom Value Center at 2601 West 12th Street, even striking the clerk with a handgun, but he got away without getting any money.

Now, Police Information Officer Sam Clemens says based on the description of the suspect and surveillance video, a man was arrested Monday night.

Clemens says investigators received four tips, from police and the public, and he says those tips helped officers locate the suspect's coat and also his weapon, which turned out to be a BB-gun.

He says 25-year-old Thomas Troy Anderson of Sioux Falls was arrested Monday night by the Warrant Task Force and charged with first-degree robbery, attempted grand theft and three counts of simple assault.
