A Sioux Falls woman was allegedly held against her will by a man for over 30 days  according to police spokesman Sam Clemens.

Police arrested Daniel James Armstrong Sr. after a brief standoff Friday on N. Covell Ave. after the woman's employer got suspicious and called authorities. It was after the arrest that the 25 year old woman told police she and her baby were held against her will.

The woman also told police that Armstrong would threaten her daily if she were to give up his whereabouts after a warrant was out for his arrest after a previous incident.

According to Clemens, the two were involved in a relationship prior to the arrest and the child is Armstrong's. He is scheduled for an initial court appearance Monday on several charges including rape and false imprisonment.
