Sioux Falls Leaders Ponder $1.7 Million Surplus
SIOUX FALLS – City officials in Sioux Falls are debating what to do with an estimated $1.7 million surplus in the city’s capital budget.
Finance Director Tracy Turbak says the surplus is partly the result of unanticipated revenue from a city sales tax.
The Argus Leader reports that the City Council will hear recommendations from department heads in coming weeks about how – or whether – the money should be spent. One option is to roll the surplus into the 2014 capital budget.
