Ask college grads from the last five years how the job market is going and they'll tell you it has been tough out there. But according to financial experts at Wallet Hub, 2016 grads and others have reasons to be more optimistic. The word from the National Association of Colleges and Employers is that employers are planning on hiring more people in general and 2016 grads, in particular.

It also turns out that if you're looking to start a career, you could do much worse than Sioux Falls. Our city came out 4th out of the most populated 150 cities in the most recent look at employment opportunities in the U.S.

Once again the WalletHub's analysts used data to determine best and worst places to start a career from sources like the U.S. Census Bureau, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, HUD, the Council on Community and Economic Research, the U.S. Conference of Mayors and more. There were two general topics under which they examined several categories of information: Professional Opportunities and Quality of Life.

Under Professional Qualities they examined the unemployment rate, (where Sioux Falls was #1 with the lowest), median starting salaries, entrepreneurial activity,(again Sioux Falls was #1 in this area) and others. Under Quality of LIfe they considered things like housing affordability, population growth, strength of social ties, recreational opportunities for singles and families and median incomes.
