Sioux Falls Drinking Party Ends with Rape Charge
An incident that began with an early-morning party on Saturday ended with the party host charged with rape.
Officer Sam Clemens says a 25-year-old Sioux Falls woman was among those who were drinking in the 200 block of South Lake Avenue. He says the woman arrived between 5:00 and 6:00 am and eventually passed out.
When she awoke, a man was on top of her and was fondling her. She called police and the man was still there when police arrived during the noon hour.
Clemens says 32-year-old Jacob Mayen, who lives at that address, was charged with third-degree rape.
It's not known how many people were in the apartment, but Clemens says they were all drinking.
