Sioux Falls Crews Ready For Snow [AUDIO]
SIOUX FALLS – In light of the expected spring storm in Sioux Falls and the surrounding area, Gaylynn Huber of Sioux Falls Streets says his crews are already on the job.
“Tuesday afternoon, we dropped all the sanders back (that were hauling tree branches) in and put our tailgates back on,” explained Huber. “We loaded them up Tuesday afternoon. This morning at 4:00 a.m., I brought half of my crew in. With the potential of freezing rain I had to prepare for that. Our morning crews will be on until noon. The other half will come in at noon and work until midnight. We’re on 12 hour shifts then until the storm goes through.”
Huber says all the private contractors will be out on the street working.
“I am also going to throw a small street crew out on the street and continue to gather debris.”
Huber says the public can help.
“We still have cars parked in front of piles. We can’t get any equipment near those piles. We don’t want to damage any cars. We have to work around the vehicles. It would be great if people could move their cars to streets that have already been clear of debris.”
