City of Sioux Falls officials laid out a comprehensive branch management plan during a news conference at City Hall.  While much of the activity during the past week has been in response to the ice storm, the City now moves into the recovery phase.

"Sioux Falls, we have come a long way, but we all know more work lies ahead," says Sioux Falls Mayor Mike Huether.  "We look forward to sharing our plan of attack to make our city as beautiful and as vibrant as ever."

Operation Timber Strike! is the name being given to the comprehensive branch management plan.  Recovery strategies announced include dividing Sioux Falls into four quadrants for purposes of planning, logistics, and operations.  The four main areas of the plan include branch removal, branch disposal, clearing hanging branches between the sidewalk and the curb, and the coordination of volunteers.
