August 16, 17, 18 (Fri, Sat, Sun)…RIVERBOAT DAYS…At Riverside Park in Yankton. A summer arts festival featuring over 120 artists and craftsmen, lots of entertainment and live music.
August 17 (Saturday)…WING AND BREW FESTIVAL…Noon-10:30pm at the Swiftel Center in Brookings. Car show, wings, beers, live music, inflatables, games, volleyball tourney and more.
August 17 (Saturday)…HEART WALK…8am at FallsPark. A non-competitive one-mile and three-mile walk. There will also be inflatables for the kids, balloon twisters, refreshments, educational booths, and free blood pressure screenings. Free. (American Heart Association 605-360-2542)
August 17 (Saturday)…FARMER’S MARKET…There are two Farmer’s Market’s you can check out in downtown Sioux Fallson Saturdays. The Falls Park Farmer’s Market at Falls Park across from the horse barn and the Sioux Empire Farmer’s Market located in the parking lot at 8th and Railroad. You’ll find vegetables, flowers, jellies, meats and more.
August 17 (Saturday)…SOUNDS AT THE FALLS…Free musical entertainment from 7-9pm at the Queen Bee Mill in Falls Park. Limited seating is available, bring your own chairs. This week’s entertainment is The Merdtones. (In case of inclement weather, the show will be cancelled at 5pm. Like Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation on Facebook and know the status of the show.)
August 17 (Saturday)…RIVERFEST…5-11pm at the Downtown Riverfront from 6th Street to south of 8th Street. Live music, art, kids’ activities, food, beverages, retail vendors, fireworks and more. The night’s line-up includes Jim Groth, Cole Allen and Peace by Revenge
August 17 (Saturday)…ALLEGIANT DODGE HIGH FARES NATIONAL DODGEBALL LEAGUE TOURNAMENT…Registration at Noon, games start at 1pm at the Avera Sports Institute, 1601 West 44th Street. Registration is $100 per team. Funds raised will benefit Avera Charities and the charity of the winning team’s choice.
August 17 (Saturday)…PROJECT S.O.S (Supply One Student) DISTRIBUTION…9am-4pm at Whittier Middle School, 930 East 6th Street. Bring your children and identification for each child. If you have a backpack, bring it along. The Banquet will fill it with new school supplies. (605-335-7066)

August 17, 18 (Sat, Sun)…SIOUX FALLS CYCLONES SHOWCASE…Open to all baseball and softball players, boys and girls ages 9-18 in the Sioux Empire. The showcase is designed to evaluate each player for purposes of player development and team placement. Cost is $20. It will be held at the Sanford Fieldhouse, 2215 West Pentagon Place.
August 18 (Sunday)…HUSETS SPEEDWAY…7pm in Brandon with Outlaw Sprint cars plus 360 sprints, modifieds and stock cars. There will be a bike giveaway for the kids.
