A Sioux Falls man was arrested early Thursday after his SUV struck a power pole near the intersection of 57th Street and Western Avenue.

Police Officer Sam Clemens says 45-year-old Daniel Ray Brison Junior was southbound on Western when his 2002 Ford Escape left the roadway and struck the wooden utility pole around 2:05 a.m.

Brison was charged with first-offense DWI and having no insurance.

Clemens says damage to the pole was estimated at $10,000 and damage to Brison's vehicle was estimated at $6.000.
