Sheriff Deputy Involved Shooting on North Cliff Sioux Falls
An early Saturday morning shooting involved a Minnehaha County deputy as he responded to a call for a domestic assault that authorities considered to be of a very violent nature.
The officer arrived to the 6200 block of North Cliff Avenue at 1:25 AM. A suspect immediately confronted the deputy with a weapon according to a statement from Sheriff Mike Milstead.
"The deputy shot the suspect, who received one gunshot wound." said Milstead. "The deputies rendered first aid and the suspect was transported to the hospital. The state Division of Criminal Investigation was contacted and will be conducting the investigation as per the department’s standard protocol."
