Police say the public was not in danger and officers were following standard procedure, as multiple police cars, crisis vehicles were parked in front of a residence on 50th Street in Sioux Falls on Saturday morning (March 25).

A neighbor said he became aware of the incident when Sioux Falls Fire Rescue arrived, knocked on an unanswered door, followed by officers with weapons drawn entering the residence. Incident was reported at 2:41 AM.

At 9:42, police scanners indicated the individual in question was going exit the residence and let others know what door the person would use as an exit.

Traffic was diverted at Marion Rd at 49th and 50th Street, redirecting motorists to Drexel avenue.
