Finally, Meryl Streep has a respectable co-star. Yes, she's shared the screen with Robert De Niro, Robert Redford, Clint Eastwood, Dustin Hoffman and Jack Nicholson, but her career may actually take off with her latest pairing.

Meryl Streep stars as Ricki Rendazzo, a famous rock star in the new movie, "Ricki and the Flash."  She abandoned her family to chase her dreams but gets a second chance to make things right after her ex-husband asks her to come back to Chicago to help her divorced daughter.

Rick Springfield stars alongside Meryl as a band member who is love with Ricki. Yes, they share an on-screen kiss.  But, if my pretend boyfriend is going to kiss anyone, I'm glad it's Meryl Streep. He could do worse.

Diablo Cody wrote the movie. She's best known for writing "Juno."

Mamie Gummer, Meryls' real-life daughter, plays her on-screen daughter. Kevin Kline and Audra McDonald also star in the movie.

The movie is set to hit theaters August 7, 2015.
