SD Air National Guard to be Deployed to Southwest Asia
Members of the South Dakota Air National Guard are getting ready for deployment to Southwest Asia as part of the Air Force’s Air Expeditionary Force rotation plan.
Lieutenant Colonel Reid Christopherson says some 200 Airmen from the Air Guard’s 114th Fighter Wing will leave Sioux Falls this month for what’s being called “an unspecified location where they will support ongoing military operations.”
Christopherson says the Airmen are to return home in the fall. He says this will be the fifth large-scale deployment from the 114th Fighter Wing in support of global operations since September 11, 2001.
