Talk about a 'Scandal.' Actor Columbus Short, who plays Harrison Wright on the hit ABC show, was arrested yesterday (Mar. 26) for allegedly punching a man in the face at a restaurant in Los Angeles on March 15. According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, he has since been charged with a felony of battery with serious bodily injury and faces up to four years in jail of convicted.

Short, who has a history of violence, was released from jail yesterday on a $50,000 bond. According to the Associated Press (via NPR) on Valentine's Day 2014, the actor (and former Britney Spears backup dancer) was charged with a misdemeanor for beating his wife. Though he has plead not guilty, earlier this month a judge court-ordered him to stay away from his wife. Four years earlier, in June 2010, he was charged with another felony for battery, though the charge was later reduced to "disturbing the peace" and he was placed on three years of informal probation.

Prior to acting in 'Scandal,' Short danced for Spears on her 'Onyx Hotel Tour' and appeared in 'You Got Served,' 'Save the Last Dance 2,' 'Stomp the Yard' and even the Disney Channel's 'That's So Raven.'

News of Short's arrest broke right around the same time as Zac Efron's involvement in a sketchy scuffle on Skid Row, a dangerous part of L.A. Though the two incidents are unrelated, neither is the kind we hope to see actors involved in. We hope they both manage to get on a healthier path.
