Sanford's Eric Larsen joined Jeff Thurn on Monday's edition of Overtime.

Larsen is the general manager of the Sanford Sports Complex.

How rewarding was it to watch all the events unfold at the Sanford Pentagon this past year?

"Well, it's been really exciting. If you really think about it, we've only been open nine months now and so much has happened out here. And really the number of kids involved in the program, are out here and a lot of the big basketball games get a lot of the attention, but I always tell people when they tour the facility, the real bread and butter of the facility out here is the programs we have for the kids. Instructional leagues to help the kids meet their potential athletically."

What was the natural reaction of fans when they walked into the Pentagon?

"Yeah the natural reaction is 'wow!' We do have a lot of people that come out to see the facility on a daily basis. It's open and we let them walk through. And they usually stop by when they are done and are like 'wow, what a facility.' It's just a great looking facility and there's some very interesting things to see in the building."

Did the Pentagon exceed expectations in his first year open?

"Oh it was. We expected the first year to be pretty big, but I don't think any of us thought it would be as good as it really has been. And how we built on that first year to move in to a really the second fall, and winter season coming up. It's been amazing and we really look forward to this next year and the programs we can add to the already successful ones out here."

Last Fall, the Minnesota Timberwolves played the Milwaukee Bucks in an NBA exhibition game, and Wisconsin faced St. John's in an college basketball regular season.

What was Larsen's favorite event in the first season of the Pentagon?

"Well, yeah I remember a moment standing up on the second level as the Timberwolves were warming for a basketball game against the Bucks and saying, 'hey we finally did this.' We got to this day and it was a very successful day and it was really a great feeling to see it come together like that and it's been full speed ahead ever since then."
