As Steven Spielberg puts his final touches on this year's 'Lincoln,' it looks like he'll be jumping straight into 'Robopocalypse.' We get that impression because - for the second day in the row - casting news is starting to break on the project. The latest rumored lead: Ben Whishaw.

This comes from Variety, and follows yesterday's announcement that Tom Rothman may produce the film, and Anne Hathaway may be its female lead. They join Chris Hemsworth in the likely category of leading the film, which is due April 25, 2014. But - in terms of Spielberg - this isn't that quick a transition. Steven has had six instances where he's had two films come out in the same year: in 1989 with 'Always' and 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade', in 1993 with 'Jurassic Park' and 'Schindler's List,' in 1997 with 'The Lost World' and 'Amistad,' in 2002 with 'Minority Report' and 'Catch Me if You Can,' in 2005 with 'War of the Worlds' and 'Munich,' and last year with 'War Horse' and 'The Adventures of Tin-Tin' - with the latter two being released a mere four days apart. So in terms of Spielberg, a year and a half between is not that bad.

Wishhaw has been kicking around for a while and led 'Perfume' in 2006, which wasn't the breakout hit that was hoped for. But he's got a great couple months ahead with roles in 'Cloud Atlas' and in 'Skyfall' as Q, and if he gets this then we'll surely be seeing a lot more of him.
