Rihanna is hard at work on her new animated film 'Happy Smekeday,' and has officially logged some studio time with fellow co-star Jim Parsons.

Over the weekend, the pop singer worked with the 'Big Bang Theory' actor, recording voiceovers for the forthcoming 3D movie, which is an adaptation of Adam Rex's award-winning book ‘The True Meaning of Smekday.' "Worked with the very talented Jim Parsons today #animationLife," RiRi tweeted with a black-and-white in-studio pic.

The day before (Dec. 14), she offered more insight about her new undertaking. "Had a blast today!" the 'Unapologetic' singer wrote of her latest gig. "So weird recording for animation, but I get to keep my accent! AND it's PG, which mom should be happy about! Brrrap!!"

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the animated movie is about “a friendly alien race invades Earth and uses it as a hideout from their mortal enemy. When one lowly alien accidentally notifies the enemies of his whereabouts, he is forced to go on the run with a teenage girl, embarking on a comical road trip across a post-apocalyptic America and learning what it really means to be human.”

Unfortunately, RiRi fans will have to wait to hear how the star's voiceover turned out. DreamWorks is expected to release the movie in 2014.
