There appears to be a shakeup coming in the front office of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and former Sioux Falls Skyforce, and Wolves Head Coach Flip Saunders, may be heading back to the Twin Cities.

NBA.com is reporting that the Wolves will fire general manager David Kahn, and will bring in Saunders to be GM.

According to the story:

Saunders has been negotiating a contract that, with option years, could run through the 2017-18 season and could be worth more than $9 million over the full five years, according to league sources who requested anonymity because they weren’t authorized to discuss the hiring.

The move could become official as soon as next week.

Saunders coached in Sioux Falls for the 1994-95 season., before jumping to the NBA to coach the Timberwolves from 1995 to 2005.  He then landed three-year stints in Detroit and Washington.
