Remember Getting This For Christmas?

Who, besides me, remembers getting a brown bag full of whole peanuts and hard candy as a gift after church on Christmas Eve?

In our church they called it a Christmas sack.

Everyone got one as they left the church to go home and enjoy oyster stew and bar-b-ques before opening gifts.

Some years we got Old Fashioned Candy, other years we got Ribbon Candy.

We only got the Ribbon Candy though on special occasions - I'm assuming because it was more expensive.

And then there were those "special" years when we got a big, bright, red apple to go along with the candy.

Ah - another great holiday memory!
