Regulators Put Sioux Falls Nails Salon Out of Business
State regulators have put a Sioux Falls nail salon out of business.
The State Department of Labor and Regulation says the state Cosmetology Commission has permanently revoked the license of #1 Nails Salon, at 2701 West 41st Street, Suite F.
The Commission says the salon's owner-operator, Ngoc Lan Thi Nguyen, was using unlicensed workers and had safety and sanitary violations.
The Department says Nguyen was ordered to take a safety and sanitation course as a result of a previous violation in September of last year.
But a follow-up investigation found dirty jet covers, used buffers, and unsanitary Barbicide bottles, utensils and trays.
Department officials say Nguyen tried to bribe an inspector on two separate occasions, and when the inspector refused, she asked that the incidents not be reported.
