It was a weekend of records in the Sioux Falls area. The National Weather Service says 2.74 inches of rain fell on Sunday, a record for the date. The old record was 1.47, set in 1943.

This is also the wettest June on record, with 9.97 inches. The old record of 8.43 inches was set 30 years ago, in 1984. And it's also our wettest month ever, beating out the 9.42 inches that fell in May of 1898.

So once again, we were all a part of history. I know, tell it to the sump pump.
