If you're like just about any kid, the last thing you want to think about on Halloween is eating healthy stuff.

But for some people, it's their job to come up with something healthy for little ghosts, goblins and zombies to eat on Halloween, and they've come through.

Marjorie Zastrow, an Extension Nutrition Field Specialist at South Dakota State University, has sent out a release in which she says lots of fruits and vegetables can be quick, easy and packaged.

Now, she mentions whole bananas, apples, baby carrots and kiwi, among others, as well as single servings of fruit juice.

There's also dried fruit like apples, raisins or my favorite, crasins, which are dried cranberries, along with almonds, peanuts and walnuts.

My guess is that parents are going to like these a lot more than kids will, but then again it has been a long time since I was a kid, so maybe today's trick-or-treaters are more sensible about what's in the treat sacks.

sAt least the treats they bring home and don't eat along the way.
