A voluntary recall of several lot numbers and manufacturing dates of Epipen and Epipen Junior auto injectors was announced by the Federal Government's FDA division.

According to the report, Epipen and Epipen Jr defective items may cause a failure to activate when needed.

The recall includes thirteen lots distributed between Dec. 17, 2015, and July 1, 2016. Expiration dates are April, May, September and October of 2017.

The products were only distributed in the United States.
