Prince Memory: Super Bowl XLI Halftime Show

In the years following the scandalous Super Bowl 38 halftime performance in 2004, the NFL went with older, safer acts for the league's premiere event. Paul McCartney and The Rolling Stones headlined the two years after Justin Timberlake exposed the bejeweled right breast of Janet Jackson. The next halftime show would turn a major complication into art.

It was February 4, 2007 and Prince was playing the halftime show at Super Bowl 41 in Miami. Rain plagued the game, which saw the Indianapolis Colts beat the Chicago Bears 29-17.

As is told in a video feature produced by the NFL, Prince was not worried about the rain. In fact he asked a producer: "Can you make it rain harder?"

I will never forget watching Purple Rain in the rain in Miami.
