Power Pole Snapping Thief Can’t Escape Sioux Falls Police

Early Sunday morning just after midnight, officers were in the parking lot in the 3000 block of South Minnesota Avenue when they heard a crash.

Final investigation showed that Austin Johnson stole a cash box from a business sharing the parking lot. A female witness tried to stop him and was knocked down by the suspect’s vehicle as he fled. She was treated at a local hospital.

Johnson was arrested for theft, assault, DWI, and leaving the scene of an accident. His friend, 22 year old Christopher Rave was arrested for DWI.
