DALLAS, Ga. (AP) - Police plan to search the Georgia home of a couple accused of child cruelty in the case of an emaciated teenage boy found at a Los Angeles bus station.

Authorities say Mitch Comer weighed 87 pounds and told them he had suffered years of abuse after being taken out of school in the eighth grade. Los Angeles police said the teen told officers his stepfather gave him $200 and a list of homeless shelters before he was put on a bus to California on his 18th birthday.

Records in Georgia's Paulding County, near Atlanta, show the stepfather, Paul Comer, and mother, Sheila Marie Comer, were in jail facing charges of false imprisonment and cruelty to children.

The sheriff's department said they planned to search the home sometime Friday.
