Sioux Falls Police Lieutenant Kyle Hoekstra says a juvenile faces charges after allegedly threatening an ex-girlfriend Monday night.

"The incident started at Barnes & Noble on 41st Street in Sioux Falls. The incident involved a 17-year-old female and her 18-year-old friend. While in the store, the 17-year-old male, an ex-boyfriend of the 18-year-old arrived. An argument started inside the business. The two females then left the store and went to their car. The male followed them and the argument continued. At one point, he went to his vehicle, retrieved a tire iron and threatened to shatter the windows on their vehicle."

Hoekstra says the females drove away.

"The suspect followed and they ended up at a gas station. The females then called police. The suspect fled prior to the police getting there. However they later located him. He was arrested for disorderly conduct."

The juvenile was released in his parent's custody.
