The Associated Press reports that a funeral will be held Saturday in Pierre for 16-year-old Dalton Williams who authorities say was shot by a classmate.

The accused shooter has been arrested on a first-degree murder charge. Authorities say he is being charged as an adult and will continue to be held without bond. The suspect could get life in prison if convicted.

Williams was found in the doorway of the accused shooter's house with a gunshot wound to the chest. The high school sophomore was rushed to a nearby hospital, but he later died.

According to court documents an argument broke out between the accused and Williams about a paintball incident. The Associated Press reports that a witness told officials that the boys began wrestling and joking after the argument then the accused got a semi automatic shotgun and pointed it at the witness. The witness reported that the victim stepped between the boys and was shot.
