Paula Deen Fans Stream to Her Defense.
Over the last few weeks cooking guru Paula Deen has been up to her spatula in controversy. Deen was in court on May 17th for a deposition concerning a discrimination lawsuit filed against her by a former employee who managed Uncle Bubba's Seafood and Oyster House. Paula and her brother own the restaurant.
According to the Huffington Post:
During the deposition, Deen was peppered with questions about her racial attitudes. At one point she's asked if she thinks jokes using the N-word are "mean." Deen says jokes often target minority groups and "I can't, myself, determine what offends another person." Deen told an attorney questioning her under oath last month that she has used the N-word. "Yes, of course," Deen said, though she added, "It's been a very long time."
As a result of this controversy the Food Network, that carried her show, dropped her like Hot Oven-Roased Honey-Glazed Potato.
Paula has since apologize for her actions via youtube (below):
Social media is an amazing thing. And Paula has some amazing fans. People are streaming to Deens facebook page to lend their support and other comments. Check some of these out:
