BROOKINGS, SD -- Steph Paluch's play has earned the South Dakota State sophomore a pair of weekly awards.

The Pierre native has been named the College Sports Madness Mid-Major Player of the Week and The Summit League Player of the Week.

Paluch helped the Jackrabbits to a 2-0 week and a pair of big wins.  The 5-foot-10 guard averaged 16 points and three rebounds while shooting 35 percent from the field, 50 percent from three-point range and was perfect from the free-throw line, sinking all 14 shots.

In the upset win over then-No. 12 Penn State, Paluch scored a career-high and game-high 18 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the field, including a pair of three-pointers, and 6-for-6 shooting from the charity stripe.

In the win over Central Michigan, Paluch scored 14 points, sinking two three-pointers and making 8-for-8 from the foul line, including going 6-for-6 in the final 1:16 to secure the Jackrabbits win.

Paluch was also The Summit League's Player of the Week on Nov. 18.

South Dakota State returns to action Tuesday when it concludes a three-game homestand with a 7 p.m. game against Northern Illinois.
