The remaining four members of One Direction are doing everything they can to assure the world there is no bad blood between them and former member Zayn Malik.

During the band's acceptance speech for Top Duo or Group at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night (May 17), Liam Payne went out of his way to make sure Zayn was given credit where credit is due.

"There's one more person to share this award with, and that's our brother Zayn," he said before boys walked off the stage.

The BBMAs are only the band's second TV appearance since the roster shakeup earlier this year. 1D's first stop was on The Late Late Show With James Corden on Friday night, where they were not only game for a hard-fought game of dodgeball, but spoke explicitly about what has unfortunately been ongoing Zayn drama.

“At first we were a little bit angry obviously, we were surprised,” Liam told the talk show host when asked how the band first reacted to news of Zayn's decision to leave the band. “But I think we all kind of knew the general vibe Zayn was feeling. There’s certain parts of this job that Zayn loved and certain parts of the job that he didn’t. And if you don’t like your job, you’ve got to follow your heart at times and you need to go where you need to go. [...] There’s no arguing with that. Like I said, we were angry at first but then it was just a bit more disappointing.”
