One Dead In South Dakota Vehicle Crash

S.D. Highway Patrol is reporting:

A Madison, S.D., man died in a one-vehicle crash on 252nd Street about one and one-half miles west of Salem on Tuesday, April 15.

Gerald Kenneth Ottoson, 60, was westbound driving a 1995 Kenworth truck when a front tire blew out. The vehicle crossed the centerline and entered the south ditch.

It struck a field approach, hit several trees and rolled. Ottoson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was dead at the scene.

No further information is immediately available.  The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. McCook County Sheriff’s Office and Salem Fire Department assisted.
