Olivia Wilde Reads Hateful Tweets from Bieber Fans
It wasn't long ago that Olivia Wilde, caring person that she is, used Twitter to offer some advice to young Justin Bieber, who recently walked around London sans shirt like a tiny Canadian Matthew McConaughey.
Afterwards, she took a whole lotta heat from the world's Beliebers -- and on Tuesday, March 12, she hilariously told Jay Leno all about it.
In case you missed it, Wilde's tweet read:
“Bieber, put your f–ing shirt on. (unless you lost all your shirts in a fire in which case my condolences and please purchase a new shirt.)”
But she says there was a good explanation. "He's in London and it's so cold there and I was concerned," she said, adding that she has a 19-year-old brother in England and she'd tell him the same thing. "I said it with love!"
She then addressed some of the nasty tweets hurled from the Belieber army, adding wryly, "At first I thought they were being mean, but then I realized that it's just friendly advice."
For example, one of the Biebs' fans asked, "r u a lesbian or r u too old?”
“It’s great because it’s a question I had never asked myself before,” she said. "Am I too old to be a lesbian?"
Another favorite was the very apt, "Put your shirt over your mouth," which Wilde surmised was a "Shakespearean insult" -- one she says she might use in the future.
We'd like to point out that in the myriad of tweets she received, none asked the lovely Wilde to put any extra layers on her own body. Because even Beliebers aren't that foolish.
