SIOUX FALLS, SD -- The Sioux Falls Stampede are proud to announce that forward Logan O’Connor has committed to the University of Denver for the 2015-16 season. He becomes the 12th Stampede player to commit to a Division I program this season.

Former Stampede forward Matt Tabrum and defenseman Matt Van Voorhis are currently skating with the Pioneers.

A native of Calgary, Alberta, O’Connor was selected by the Stampede in the 13th round of the 2013 Phase 2 USHL Draft. Last season, O’Connor skated with the Calgary Royals Midget AAA team. He recorded 23 points (7g, 16a) in 34 games with the Royals while leading them into the playoffs where he posted four points (1g, 3a) in five games.

The Pioneers are members of the new National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) and are coached by former Dubuque Fighting Saints head coach, Jim Montgomery. They are 3-3-0 on the season and host Nebraska-Omaha this weekend.

O’Connor and the Stampede return to action Friday night when they travel to Youngstown, Ohio to face the Phantoms in the first of two on the weekend. The Herd return home to the Sioux Falls Arena on November 9th when they host Sioux City.
