Former Northern State University Basketball Coach Don Meyer has been admitted to hospice care at his home in Aberdeen.  That according to a spokesperson with Avera St. Luke's Hospital.

Coach Meyer's was involved in a bad car accident in 2008.  Following the accident, Meyer lost his left leg and during one of the surgeries it was discovered that he had cancer - intestinal and liver.

Coach Meyer finished his career at NSU with an all-time record of 923-324.

In April of this year, It was announced that the future home of the Avera Cancer Institute in Aberdeen would be named in honor of Don and Carmen Meyer.
