Now Playing at Lyon Park Are the Construction Workers and Critters

The facelift of Lyon Park is well underway.  Plans were approved last year and bids were accepted earlier this year for the anticipated $400,000 upgrade to one of Sioux Falls’ oldest green areas.

New equipment, better sight lines and handicapped parking are among the numerous upgrades slated for the park just south of Downtown on Phillips Avenue.

The presence of heavy equipment such as the excavator and scraper is the tell-tale sign of major work to be done to the park.  Needless to say, it will be a while before the neighborhood will have a fully functioning park.  Until then, only the stray squirrels and other wildlife will play in Lyon Park.
