My dear friend Travis Jacobs has insights and wisdom into the human condition which belie the number of years he's been on this planet. His path through life has been (as it has for many of us) convoluted. And I truly hate to admit I've watched this gentleman grow up, but I will, because he has done it with such grace.

His mission nowadays is improving peoples' lives so that they, in turn, can make a difference for others in need. His new book Rhythm Wisdom - The Endangered Humans' Traveling Guide -Volume 1 is a collection of poetry and prose that will make you think, may make you weep, you'll reach for explanations and look into yourself at your own angels and demons.

Over the years, Travis and I have had some very involved and meaningful conversations. They have opened my mind and my heart, given me some hard and at times painful thinking to do. I've even questioned my own beliefs because of things we've discussed.

He is a compassionate warrior for making this planet a better place for all of us and his weapon of choice are words. To say I am proud of him would be a gross understatement!

In the video below, Travis passionately requests you to consider the plight of the homeless in our world, our country, in Sioux Falls, in your own backyard; with a piece he composed for the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House.
