North Carolina, New York Residents Arrested for Prescription Drug Fraud in Sioux Falls
Two people, one from North Carolina and the other from New York, are being held in Sioux Falls in a prescription fraud case.
Captain Greg Vandekamp says police were called around 7:30 PM Tuesday to the HyVee Store on South Minnesota Avenue where a customer had tried to use what appeared to be a fraudulent prescription:
VandeKamp says officers went to the ShopKo store on West 41st Street and arrested 30-year-old Courtney Davis of Raleigh, North Carolina and 31-year-old William McWhite of New York City for allegedly trying to buy oxycodone with fraudulent prescriptions. He says both were arrested on charges that included prescription fraud and possession of a controlled substance.
VandfeKamp says a search of the couple's hotel room turned up a computer that was allegedly being used to generate the fraudulent prescriptions.
