The first night blast of 2013 at Crazy Horse Memorial will be Wednesday, June 25th. The night blasts are described as "...spectacular ceremonial blasts [that] light up the mountain with incredible fireballs and specially designed pyrotechnical features."

The event on June 26th is also a celebration of the 87th birthday of Ruth Ziolkowski. Ruth, the wife of late Crazy Horse sculptor Korczak Ziolkowski, has directed the Memorial since her husband's death.

The June 26th blast also commemorates the anniversary of the Battle of the Little Big Horn June 25, 1876. Crazy Horse was a main figure in the battle.
